As part of our ongoing "Getting to Know Your Local Businesses" series, this week we sat down with Sarah Burnam, master esthetician and owner of Skin Care With Sarah.

Tell us a bit about your business: What does your business offer and how long have you been around?
I am a Master HydraFacialist, Acne Specialist with Face Reality and I specialize in customized facials with Circadia. I also sell skin care products from Face Reality and Circadia. I have been at Salons at the Loft since February of 2022.

How did you decide to get involved in this line of work? How did the business get started?
I got my cosmetology license in high school because I had a passion for makeup and skin care. I personally struggled with acne as a teenager and adult, which brought me to my skin care journey. I went to college for a couple of years but then realized that I wasn’t enjoying it. When covid hit I had time to sit down and think about what I wanted to do with my life. I then realized that no one in our area really offers facials. So, I started Skin Care with Sarah!

Tell us a couple things you are proud of about your business. What are you known for? What separates you from the competition?
I am super proud of owning my HydraFacial machine! HydraFacial uses a patented vortex-fusion technology to cleanse, extract, and hydrate. The HydroPeel Tips, used together with the HydraFacial vacuum technology and serums, creates a vortex effect to easily dislodge and remove impurities while simultaneously delivering a hydrating skin solution. There is no downtime for this treatment and you are immediately glowing after your appointment!

What is your favorite part of running this business?
I love having my clients come in and be able to lay down, relax, and help educate them on skin care.

Who is your target market or ideal customer/client? Anyone that wants a relaxing facial or even just some skin care products. You have to start somewhere! We have solutions for skin of every age and life stage. Teens can benefit from facials that address issues while empowering them with tips for care and optimal skin care results. Men and women alike will appreciate the stimulation, relaxation and cleansing. Age gracefully while combating fine lines and wrinkles with restorative facials that improve circulation, hydration and collagen production.

Are there any special promotions, annual sales, or special events that
you'd like to mention?
I offer customized seasonal facials! So check in when a new season hits because it is always changing! I love creating different facials to reflect the season. In addition, we are now offering gift certificates just in time for the holiday season. Ask about our Custom Seasonal Facial, normally $100 for only $90.

Is there any other information you'd like your potential customers/clients to know about your business?
I recently got acne certified with Face Reality! This program is a treatment + products combined to help you get the results you want! I personally have started using Face Reality and I noticed an immediate difference in my skin.

How do you see your business growing and improving over the next couple of years? I am really passionate about what I do, so I want to still be educating myself to bring new things in for my clients. I love investing into different things in the skin care world because I know it will better my clients.
