6/24/22 fireworks season "first day" for unincorporated Harris County

Loading Image...

Harris County Fire Marshal announces today 6/24/22 is the 1st day of firework's season in unincorporated Harris County.

Conditions are dry in Harris County, so remember to celebrate safely!

When grass and fields are dry, shooting fireworks can be a risk.

Use fireworks outdoors in a safe area, away from dry grass and buildings.

It's too dry For fireworks. I hope people use caution. I would hate to see a massive fire break out

We have close neighbors who usually have their own fireworks show in their yard. I'm especially concerned about everyone's dry grass. Even worse, one neighbor has a huge dead tree.

@Bloom : The guy behind me he will start July 1 and end up on July 7. It's always a week long every holiday for his fireworks. They always end up in my backyard. Now I have to worry and watch and make sure my backyard doesn't catch on fire

@Sweetie : I think it will definitely be hard to go to sleep with the sound of fireworks going off that close, and knowing how dry everything is.

Last year, the next door neighbor had a party with lots of people and the kids were blowing the kind of fireworks that whistle. A few of their empty cartridges ended up in our yard. If they do that this year, I hope they don't start a fire with how dry our grass is right now.

@garfieldgurl : Not the fire potential that's funny - that's serious! But the auto editing of let's just say neckst door is!

@jjjj : Freaking auto-correct! I changed it after reading your post. I typed next door (or so I thought) and it got changed to "another website". WTH??? 😅

@garfieldgurl : Nah, that wasn't you, that was the [town].com software. It automatically changes the name of that neighborhood website, even when one is just using the words in their traditional sense, (and I think the book of faces as well) to "another website". Like so, maybe:
next door (neckst door)
facebook (book of faces)

Edited to add - or not! They both show up for me at the moment!
