Kingwood Homeowner Shoots and Kills Car Burglar

For Immediate Release September 2, 2021

On September 02, 2021 at about 9:00 PM the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office received several
911 calls reporting a burglary and later a shooting in the 22700 block of Adrift Row Lane, Porter,
Texas. During investigation, MCTXSheriff Homicide/Violent Crimes Detectives were advised that a
homeowner received an alarm indicating motion in their driveway. Upon going outside, the
homeowner discovered an unknown male inside their vehicle. The homeowner ordered the male out
of his vehicle at gun point. The suspect refused to comply with the homeowner’s instructions and
made the statement “I’m not going back to prison” then became uncooperative and aggressive. During
the altercation, the homeowner discharged his firearm, striking the suspect. The suspect was
pronounced deceased upon the arrival of medical staff.

The circumstances surrounding the discharge of the firearm are currently under investigation by
multiple law enforcement agencies including MCTXSheriff, Texas Rangers and the Montgomery
County District Attorney’s Office, and no further details are available at this time. The deceased is a
23 year old white male with a local address whose identify cannot be released pending notification of
next of kin.

From MCTXSheriff:
"The deceased in the shooting incident has been identified as William George Bounds III, a 22 year old white male from Cleveland, Texas. At this time, no charges have been filed against the homeowner and this incident will be forwarded to the Grand Jury for review."

Was in Porter, not Kingwood. Seems like crimes of all kinds are increasing everywhere.

@Librarian82 : It was in Kingwood! Woodridge Forest subdivision, about a mile from my house and I have two friends in the cul-de-sac. Yes Montgomery county/Porter but Kingwood. It is one block from the middle school.

Sad for all no matter! Lives have been changed forever.

I wonder what makes a young guy like him have the need to commit crimes like that. Sad for all those involved

@carol888 : It gets so confusing around here. The middle school is listed as being in Porter and is in New Caney ISD. You can be Kingwood on one block and Porter around the corner.
