Domestic Violence Month Information for Assistance
Constable Mark Herman's Office supports Domestic Violence Awareness Month. For many, home is a place of love, comfort, and security, a place where you are surrounded by care and support. Unfortunately for many individuals, home is anything but a sanctuary.
On Average, nearly 20 people (men and women) per minute are physically assaulted by an intimate partner in the United States, that's more than 10 Million people annually. 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men will be a victim of physical violence by an intimate partner in their lifetime. Although Domestic Violence makes up 15 % of violent crime in the United States, only slightly more than half of intimate partner physical violence is reported to Law Enforcement.
Constable Herman's Office maintains a Domestic Violence unit that focuses on investigations regarding domestic violence. This unit is staffed by investigators with extensive training in all forms of Domestic Violence and Victim Support. Constable Mark Herman's Office maintains a strong relationship and partners with the Family Time organization in the Humble area, to provide counseling and temporary shelters for victims of Domestic Violence year round.
If you or someone you know is experiencing Domestic Violence speak up and report it, no one deserves to be abused.
