Joshua Givens, a 17-year-old Junior at New Caney High School, was tragically struck and killed by a vehicle while walking home from a quinceanera late Saturday night.
According to reports from DPS, at around around 12:45 a.m. on Sunday, March 3, a passerby came across the body of a young man on the side of McCleskey Road and called 9-1-1.
Football coach Tony Robles was able to identify the deceased victim as 17-year-old Joshua Givens.
The suspect, 23-year-old Logan Chase Foster (photo below), eventually turned himself in late Sunday evening. He has been charged with Failure to Stop and Render Aid - Causing Death, and is being held in the Montgomery County Jail on $100,000 bond.
NCISD released this statement.
"New Caney ISD is deeply saddened by this news, and our thoughts and prayers are with the student's family and friends at this time. Additional counselors will be made available at New Caney High School this week for students as needed."
