The Airi Poke & Ramen restaurant has finally opened in Valley Ranch Town Center. And since there was no way I was waiting any longer to try them out, we stopped in ASAP to see what they had to offer.
A couple of things that should be mentioned right away... They are open, but it's more of a "soft" opening for the remainder of this month. That means there will be no alcohol for a while, and there are some menu items missing as well. It also allows them to work any kinks out that comes with any restaurant opening. Their hours may be sporadic at times, so check before you go.
Alright, time for the good part: We ordered two similar dishes...The spicy and yummy chicken ramen. The noodles were cooked accordingly, the broth was well-seasoned and the chicken was delicious. Both dishes were very good, but I'd give a slight advantage to the spicy one. What can I say, I'm a a bit of a chili head.
We also added an order of Takoyaki to our meal. For those not familiar with this dish, it's an octopus that's balled up, breaded and fried, then served with a mayo topping and sweet sauce. Definitely give those a try if you go.
"Where's the poke?" you might ask. Well, that's one of those things that were not available yet. We were disappointed, but it's understandable. We plan on making a quick return trip though once they have those items in stock.
All in all, we were pleased with the food, seating, decor, prices and the overall experience. It was worth the wait, and I can see it becoming a regular spot.
