The Montgomery County Fire Marshal's Office is still investigating a fire that filled the hallways of Porter High School with smoke late Thursday night.
According to
this report from KPRC2, a fire was reported at Porter High School right before midnight on Thursday, August 2.
Multiple agencies converged on the scene to help put out the fire, including Porter, East and South Montgomery County, Caney Creek and Crosby. The fire, limited mainly to the cosmetology department, was controlled quickly, but not before smoke filled most of the entire school.
Activities scheduled to take place at the school today and this weekend have been postponed. Kids are scheduled to come back to school in just a few weeks, and there's no official word yet if this will delay that at all.
Thankfully no one was hurt during the incident, but there will be plenty of fire and water damage for NCISD officials to get fixed in the coming weeks.
