As most of us know, car seats are an essential part of childcare. But it goes beyond just having a car seat...You have to make sure it's installed correctly as well. With that in mind, the Montgomery County Hospital District and Safe Kids Greater Houston are hosting a free car seat event on Thursday, May 4, 9:00 am - 11:30 am at the Porter Fire Station (23550 Loop 494, Porter).
Certified technicians will be on hand to instruct families on installing and maintaining a safe car seat, as well as when and what equipment to change to once their child gets older.
Here are a couple quick reminders...
[Car seats for babies need to in the back seat of the car facing the back of the car and all three clasps have to be snapped into place for a baby to be safe.]
[Changing your child from a rear facing to front facing car seat in the back seat depends on their age, height and weight. All three clasps should always be used when your child in is their seat and the car is moving.]
Thank you to MCHD, SKGH and PFD for putting this on.
