2 Arrested After Murder In Porter
Two people are now in custody for their involvement in a Porter man being shot and killed last night.
On Monday, 4/24/17, at 10:14 pm, Deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office District 3 Patrol were dispatched to the 17000 block of Porter Lane in reference to a shooting.
Upon arrival, Deputies found 37-year-old John Wesley Wofford from Pasadena, Texas lying deceased in the driveway with a single gunshot wound to the chest. The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Homicide/Violent Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene and learned that two individuals, later identified as 54-year-old William Allen Batchelor of Porter and 39-year-old Wendy Lynn Johnson of Huffman had fled the scene after the shooting.
Several hours later, a citizen called 9-1-1 to report a suspicious female which turned out to be Wendy Johnson. The citizen claimed the female had knowledge of the shooting. Homicide/Violent Crimes Unit Detectives interviewed the suspects, which led to Johnson being arrested and booked into the Montgomery County Jail for Murder, and Batchelor being arrested and booked on felony charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Tampering with Physical Evidence.
